This route offers a very varied and gradual ascent of Kili, making it one of the most recommended routes by KIWISA SAFARIS. It links the Machame route and a part of the southern circuit with the top section of the Mweka route.

It allows the hiker an opportunity to acclimatize but the average walking distances are very long compared to other routes. Accommodation in this route is basically camping and we carry all your gear while on the trek. The whole trek takes about 7days with an overall altitude gain of 4096m covering a distance of 69km

MACHAME ROUTE - 7 DAYS CLIMB

Day 1:
From Machame gate (alt 1800m), continue up the trek which becomes a path after about an hour. It is easy to follow as it continues through the dense montane forest. The gradient relents as the forest merges with the giant heather, and the path leads more easily to Machame hut (alt 3000m).Dinner and overnight at the camp.}
